Are You Wasting This During Your Day?

key_to_successGoing through some of my old sales material the other day I came across this in my papers and I thought I would share it.  I’m not sure who it’s by but it’s good stuff.

Suppose there was a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening it deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day.

What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course! Each of us has such a bank.

Its name is TIME.

Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours. There is no going back. There is no drawing against the tomorrow.

You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success! The clock is running. Make the most of today and every moment.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask the student who failed a grade.

To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.

To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask the editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who just missed the train.

To realize the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who just avoided an accident.

To realize the value of ONE MILLISECOND, ask a person who won an Olympic silver medal.

I remember Bob Proctor saying something that really made sense.  He was speaking with Earl Nightingale, the Dean of Personal Development, at the time and he asked Earl how he was able to manage time?  Earl laughed and said you can’t manage time, no one can.  You can only manage your activities with in time.

So ask yourself, How am I spending my time?  Am I focused on income producing activities or am I just fooling myself with busy work?

Here’s an idea for you…

Before you go to bed make a list of the top income producing activities that must be done the following day.  Limit it to five things and then prioritize that list.  The next day work on getting the number one thing done before you move on to the next and so on.

By doing this you will get far more done in a shorter period of time and thus be managing your activities to produce greater results.
